Retail Therapy

Ok I'll admit I was bored...shopping isn't a very sound answer to boredom but my other half had money to burn and was buying a BIG external harddrive and I wanted in on the action. PCWorld and Next are adjacent so I pop into Next to look for shoes. Shoes are the female equivalent to 'puter stuff. I was wearing last summers sandals and I needed a new pair but I got a shock. No new funky sandals on the racks, oh no. The very same sandals I was wearing from last year. Ouch. What the hell !?! I hav… Continue

Cartoon Britney And Why We All Need A Plan B

When everything goes belly up someone, somewhere always has a plan B. So when Britney Spears went on a mind bending journey of self destruction and mayhem her managers simply animated her and carried on regardless. She is after all not only a person but a product, a cash cow and someone's property. Who's property are you? If you have one customer they are instantly transported into the realm of stakeholdership. In a nutshell they own a piece of you. They pay your rent. Its not pretty but its tr… Continue

Blog of Blogs

So I have several possible niches covering some of my interests. each niche has a blog. i have some squidoo lenses covering a range of random interests. i have a facebook profile and a myspace page. i get about on blogcatalog, bumpzee and spicy pages to name but a few. NOW WHAT DO I DO! Its getting so I don't know who I am. Do I need a blog of blogs...a blog to keep track of my blogging, posting and commenting? Or do I simply axe the majority of my work in order to focus on one niche? I have… Continue

Can I have it in pink?

Today, I received a Dell catalog through the post (strange I have never bought a Dell ?!?) Their latest marketing strategy has a two pronged approach. 1. Aim for the Petrol Head generation - make laptops in pretty colors - never mind the fact that they are underpowered. 2. Hit the over burdened consciences of the Baby Boomers by donating a whole $50 to charity with every laptop purchased. Or something like that. Now where do I fit in? Well I'm a bit of a geek so I look at specs and max my cash… Continue

Can an economy thrive on relationships - letting the lunatics takeover the assylum?

In the 90's everyone was asking what would be the economical force for the new era. There was uncertainty here in the UK as manufacturing industry collapsed in the 80's under the weight of Thatcherism leaving a huge void. The IT professions scooped up the higher IQs and call centers fished for the rest. Now we are nearing the end of the first decade of the new millennium we are looking at a new scenario - the power of reputation. Today I can secure employment by examples of what I do married wi… Continue

Hi,

Yes, I've only just added it and I was testing to see whether it was helpful.

It's actually only meant to pop up if you visit the blog more than 3 times.

Anyway, I don't like it so that's my next task - removal or improval!

Thanks

Jim
