Three weeks ago Ning made some major changes to this platform. The ability to bulk upload audio/video was one.
Receiving all the emails across all the networks in one inbox was another. Now you receive the emails for each particular network when you are logged in to it.
And when it comes to starting a new group.... it would seem that when you click on the "invite your friends" it no longer invites your friends just in that ONE network but across the whole of Ning!
So yesterday I started a new group on my Women's Network and had a large intake of new members (which of course is nice) but I couldn't work out why all these people where joining and saying I invited them! (I ask the question how they found us)
So I guess the same would have happened for the group I started on this network too, it will have gone out across the board.
For my Ning site that is focused on a Caribbean community it really wasn't relevant and they probably wondered why I was sending it to them!
Anyway now I have a much larger male population in my mainly female network!
So... just to let you know, if you hit the "invite your friends in the network" it means the WHOLE network!!!
Diane
P.S. Has anyone managed to send bulk emails without having to submit email addresses one at a time? It was there before and the link to do that seems to have disappeared - but I am noticing some group emails taking place.
Does this mean I'm not your friend anymore *sniff*
Ning seems to be giving us something of dubious use, unless you start a get rich quick scheme and want to blast the whole network I suppose.
Only a matter of time before some 'guru' comes up with an overpriced ebook on how to get thousands of subscribers on ning, foir less than part time work lol
John why not go ahead and publish the ebook. However, call yourself "the average guy" and don't overprice the book. Incidentally, what would you consider to be overpriced?
That's pretty interesting. I haven't tried to send bulk emails, so I can't help with that. However, it's nice to learn that you are getting subs from folks other that your target market.
Guys
Women Internet Marketers = W.I.M. = We Include (and love) Men... there was just ALOT of you joining lol
The great thing about Ning is its free to start and you can sell affilliate products so its a free business you can make money from, someone is bound to write about that ... aren't I?? :0)
My group full of people from Dominica wondered what hit them!
Diane,
Thanks for the heads up. I did find it a little entertaining when you mention that you now have a much larger population of males in your mainly female network. It really made me laugh.
