What Everyone Should Know About Social Network Marketing

I'm sure you have been bombarded with emails lately telling you to buy any number of social networking tools. Without a doubt, use of Social networking and bookmarking techniques are becoming the Number 1 way to drive traffic to your site. However, are they all that they are made out to be? I am always a little skeptical about these tools and guides and whether they are any good. I could spend a small, to large, fortune buying all these guides and I want to be sure I'm getting good informatio… Continue

Do You Forget Your Passwords? I Do

I have so many users names and passwords, that I just can't remember all of them. I remember a lot, but not all of them and of course, the one that I can't remember is the one that I need NOW! I was asked the other day by one of my work colleagues for the user name / password for a system, so they could do some work. Mmmm, couldn't remember it and did I write it down? Nope. There was another way of getting the details, but it required 30 minutes of my time to do it and I just didn't have that t… Continue

Support Our Environment - Support this Fundraiser

I attended the first day of the World Internet Summit in Australia today. What a day! Although it's newbie day and I've heard alot of it before, I always enjoy the review because I often hear things in a different way. As part of the Summit, we are conducting the World Internet Challenge. This year it is a fundraising event to raise over $100K to support the preservation of the last virgin rainforest in the world. If you are even remotely interested in ensuring that we have a world worth passi… Continue

There's Nothing Like Good Old Customer Service

And this was nothing like it...... Last week, I blogged about my dreadful experience with my DSL provider and an extended outage. Well, it continues. Some Background: In Australia, our main telecommunications provider is Telstra. Telstra owns most of the physical phone lines into Australian residences. This is because Telstra was once a fully Government operated body. As Telstra was privatised (don't get us started on that!), the Federal Government legislated so that Telstra had to let other… Continue

Do I Have Talent?

This is a question I had to ask myself this week, when I was invited to join to the Womens Internet Marketers, We've Got Talent event. This event will run across May 2008 and involves Women Marketers showcasing their products and / or services through an online event. The online event is designed to help participants develop their opt-in list and, of course, cement their standing as an expert in their field. I am embarking on the journey of launching my own product in the next two months, and… Continue

Service and Technical Support

I am currently connected to the Internet via a Dial Up Link! This is something I have only done when travelling in rural or remote Australia in the last 2 years, certainly not from my own desk at home. Yesterday, at about 10.45 am, my broadband connection just died. Literally! I was working away and started to get "no connection errors". I went through my standard troubleshooting routine of powering off my router and modem, leaving them off for a number of minutes and then repowering them. No r… Continue

Will I See You There?

Late last year, I promised myself that in 2008 I would get to one of the Internet Marketing get togethers that everyone raves about. I didn't know how I would do it, given that most of the events are held in the US and I am on the other side of the world, I just knew I would do it. Anyway, I opened my email this morning and WOW! there is an invite to the World Internet Summit in Australia in March! Sydney is only 300 kms from where I live, a nice and easy drive. I couldn't sign up quick enough.… Continue

Holidays are Wonderful or The Importance of Having A Holiday

It has been five years since we have had a holiday. I'm including weekends away, days off etc where we just don't work, don't think about work, don't talk about work. For four years we ran retail stores, at one point running 4 concurrently. This was time consuming and required our individual attention to ensure the success of the stores - stock, customers, staff. The few times we stepped back a little were disastrous - the model of the system required hands on management. One time we did get aw… Continue

Can a Gorilla Balance the Books? Guerrilla Balance Sheet preview

Jay Conrad Levinson, is the author of a series of Guerrilla Marketing books which encourage a marketer to be creative and devise their own unconventional methods of promotion. To start with, I have to say that my husband (Stuart) purchased Guerrilla Marketing Handbook about 5 years ago when we purchased a number of retail stores. We used the techniques in this handbook regularly over the 5 years and had a great result. So, when… Continue

Just Who Is Charly Leetham?

As my "About Me" page says, I have spent 20 years in the IT Industry and have a Masters of Business Admin (Internet Marketing). All very exciting, I'm sure..... What it doesn't say is that I'm an Australian, have 1 husband, 2 children and 5 dogs. I love training my dogs and spending time with my family, which is the motivation behind setting up my online enterprises. I don't mind working into the evening and early mornings, if I can spend time with my kids during the day. When I started in the… Continue
