You just pushed a button on the "Way-back Machine" in my head. Way back when I was in High School, Padre Island was the place to go. I don't think we called it 'Spring Break' back then, but from San Antonio it was only a couple of hours, as I remember it, and that's where the best beach activity was.

I haven't lived on S.A. for 20 years or more, but boy does that take me back. When I think about the summers down there though, whew! Wow, does it get hot.
