Good Morning Hal,
You sure are right we had a horrible couple of days. Thank goodness my family was out on Spring Break and they didn't have to deal with it.
Have a good day.

Hey, Hal. Thanks for your response. Yes, I have Firefox and I loved it until I got my new computer with Vista #$#@% (that's me knashing my teeth). For some reason, Firefox is buggy with my Vista software, or perhaps I should say "slightly incompatable!". How's that for an understatement?
I used to use IE only for my eBay stuff, but I've been having to use it more and more for everything. Not happy, but that's what I'm working on.
Hope your granddaughter will go on the internet and check what the designers have to say about colors. Then she won't think it's just this ol' fogey saying it. Neon pink is VERY EFFECTIVE for an accent, say a bubble or star with info, but is a bit much for most eyes in large fields.
Anyway, I wish her the best. It's her site, she should do as she pleases. Eventually she'll get to wanting more traffic and longer stays.
Been there and done that!

Dear Hal,

I just Stumbled your site, but I wanted to contact you off-group.

FIRST: I have to say that the color is too bright for me. I know you want something that looks clean and fresh. Your header does that beautifully, but if you could tone down that shocking background a bit, it would be easier on the eyes. I literally swung back in my chair when the screen popped up.

SECOND: I don't know if it's my computer or not, but you have a big blank space where the post is supposed to go. I scrolled down past all the sidebar info and the post was overlapping at the bottom. I've never seen that before, and since I'm MAJORLY technically challenged, I have no idea what is causing it. But I thought you'd want to know.

Thank you for your kind commment and I wish you lotsa luck with your site. I'll still Stumble it, even if you decide to keep that BRILLIANT background, but my web design class says it's better not to shock, unless you're Howard Stern.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

About Me:
I'm semi-retired. I drive half way to work, turn around and go home. Just kidding! I'm a retired quality consultant. I took an early retirement to pursue other interests. I started my work from home business this year and have a couple of select clients. They keep me busy a couple days a week. Just enough to keep my brain from turning to mush.

I enjoy spending more time with my wife of 32 years and seeing more of my grandkids. I like hiking, fishing and golf. Although I didn't play much this past summer.I was pretty busy setting up my home office and getting my business started. Hopefully I'll get in a few more rounds this coming summer. Maybe I should move to a place where I could play year-round!

I'm currently involved in Jack Humphrey's Blogging Success program. I'm falling behind in the 60 day lesson plan, though. I was presented with a pretty long honey-do list a few weeks ago. And, was warned that many of the listed tasks needed to be done before Christmas. I'll try and get back to my lessons today.

New Group

How do I start a new group? I think there should be a group for Jack's Blogging Success program. We can help each other if we get stuck on a lesson or task. And, share helpful techniques and tips we learn as we go through the lesson plans. It would also be informative to those that haven't enrolled but need a little help learning from square one about blog marketing.

If someone will tell me how I go about it, I'll try starting-up the group. Or, would this be a waste of time? Is there enough fol… Continue

Domains For Sale

I have 4 domains for sale. I simply don't have time to keep all my sites current
and have had a hard time outsourcing the tasks of writing blog posts for them.

All 4 are currently setup as wordpress 2.3 blogs with SEO and Adsense Optimized Themes.

I'll be happy to pass the themes along to you. You would need to change the Adsense
code in the Adsense.php files. Instructions are included with the themes. The themes
are really great looking.

The Money Is In The List?

How many freakin' times have we heard "The money is the list." Every IM Guru says it so it must be true. Right?

I guess it depends on the list. I speak here to for from personal experience. I ran some adwords campaigns for a free ebook that my granddaughter wrote. She published a blog and wanted to get some traffic and thought that adwords was the way to go. And it was.

She got about 125 sign-ups within a week for her ebook and RSS feed. It cost me less than $50.00 for the campaign by using so… Continue

What percentage of your internet marketing time is spent on research?

As a newbie to the internet marketing world I find that I was spending more time researching than building customer lists and selling. In fact, I estimate probably 80% of my time was doing keyword research, finding high ranking blogs and niche forums to post to.

I realize that there is no substitute for research and it has to be done if you are to be successful in any business. But, I'm wondering what the rest of you estimate to be the percentage of your time you spend.

I got my hands on some… Continue

NO MORE DIGGS

Do any of the Diggers on this site have any pull with the Digg site owners?

If you do, tell them it is time for a site update and easier platform. What a pain in the arse to try and digg something.

I haven't had a digg go through without it being recognized as a possible duplicate. Of course they have never been a duplicate. Most of the stories that come up as possible duplicates are no where close to my digg.

No more diggs until it changes.

NO MORE DIGGS! NO MORE DIGGS! NO MORE DIGGS.
