Mr. Greg Smith certainly deserves recognition for his work as a visual artist and graphic designer. His work comes to life with crafty life like impressions that captivate your attention with a more natural touch.

Mr. Smith was very approachable in regard to his work and his dedication to pursuing the arts for over 30 years is now paying off. Mr. Smith has often felt that he has not found a particular niche or focus, but his wide range and versatility within graphic design disciplines has given him an advantage within the industry.

His particular focus on detail makes the art he creates stand out in many ways. Greg said, “All my life, with my artwork, I've inspired myself to improve with each new piece by setting myself harder challenges each time. At times it may be because of work I've seen produced by others and those around me encouraging me by saying "You can do as well as that", but mostly its the words my high school art teacher left with me that have inspired me to be the best I can be—"any great artist can look back on any of his/her completed work and see the improvements that can be made."

His particular natural art focus is a niche within itself, Mr. Smith has a great perspective of how individual can be a contributor to ensure preservation nature. He says, “I've always been attracted to the infinite textures depicted in Nature—fur, rock, bark/soft, hard, rough—as well as the interaction between Man and Animal. Over the years my artwork has depicted women with big cats, men and horses, etc. I feel strongly that us humans are but stewards of this planet, entrusted with the duty of preserving Nature for the generations to come.”

Mr. Smith surely is a professor of art and he strives to teach us all the beauty and art of consistently improving oneself. Greg stated, “All my life, with my artwork, I've inspired myself to improve with each new piece by setting myself harder challenges each time. At times it may be because of work I've seen produced by others and those around me encouraging me by saying "You can do as well as that", but mostly its the words my high school art teacher left with me that have inspired me to be the best I can be—"any great artist can look back on any of his/her completed work and see the improvements that can be made." His self competitive nature surely is one of a kind, “I have never regarded myself as being in competition with other artists. To be sure, when we set ourselves the goal of attempting to make a living from our trade then we set ourselves beside others with the same goal, but ultimately I'm in competition with myself by trying to produce the best work I am capable of while sharing and learning from others in the same profession. I would like to believe we all would like to see each other succeed.”

It is not ironic that Mr. Smith would be able to successfully carry over his art into a different form if he had not become a graphic artist. Greg says, “I've always had a passion to paint images with my words. Who knows, maybe in the future I will find the time to set aside so that I can try my hand as a painter of words/wordsmith.” Judging from his artwork he would also be able to create some very natural and crystal clear imagery with word play as well.
