I spent a lot of time this weekend setting up a Word Press blog for a friend of mine who is my sponsor in a few network marketing companies where I actually do make money. Well since he is the master of marketing and I am the geek, we trade off on doing what we do best. He can talk to people on the phone and I can set up his blog.
I have not paid for anyone to set up custom templates, and even though I am a geek type person I am not a great coder. I find pre-made templates that will meet my needs. I have never had a problem until this blog.
First of all I just start the blog with a simple clean template, then no sooner is it set up then WP upgrades. So I install the automatic upgrade plug in and it does not want to work. I upgrade other blogs with better plug in friendly templates and they work fine. I change my template on the new blog and get it updated, and looking great. Well looking great in Firefox.
Tonight I get a message. The blog is really nice, but it looks horrible in IE. I wold not say it looks horrible on IE, but bad maybe. Bad compared to Firefox. I think it is a fun template. However, the average internet user today probably does not use Firefox.
What do you think, should I change the template so the blog is IE compatable or tell people that if they are going to get serious about using the internet they should use Firefox. (Or am I wrong there and should I be using Chrome...another day another topic...)?
Well I should be sleeping but figured since there are some serious bloggers here I would ask this question.
Disclaimer***
Thanks for your time. Let me know if the link to the blog would be useful. This is not an affiliate blog or anything so this is not a scam post just to get you to view something on the chance I could sell to you. I am seriously seeking some professional advice.
