Social Marketing Central!

I love love love this list and Peter Shankman! Read the full background and sign up for free here:
http://www.helpareporter.com/

The short version is that Peter is a PR genious IMHO, and with his many connections with reporters and various industry members people are always asking "do you know anyone that......" . The "help a report out" idea was born and he sends out 3 daily emails that have personality and you actually look forward to reading. Read them long enough and you will find an opportunity.

These emails all contain requests from reporters looking for very specific people related to very specific topic. The reporters are from HUGE publications as well as smaller ones. A great PR opp! Hint-short and sweet is better, and PLEASE follow the rules and reporter requests!

The catch--do NOT PO this man by sending off-topic pitches to the reporters. You will be called out and kicked off the list. It's not pretty...

You're very welcome. Happy to return one to the million you've given us. It really works, I don't want to jinx it, but I was already chosen to be in a major publication for a life experience I had. I'll share the details once I get the run date. It's slated for fall/winter. =)

I have Anissa monitoring the list now. She's stoked. Never know what can come of such things, but one breakout mention in a publication has led to expert spots on CNN and others hundreds of times before!

Jack is right! I am stoked! This is an awesome service! I have found a few that were really good, and got in on a call today about social media, just from HARO! I look forward to the emails every day!

Hi Anissa,

So glad that it's already helping you too! It's actually kind of addicting and such a great added insight into what the hot topics with reporters are in addition to all the PR opps. Im looking forward to seeing you/hearing you in a HARO related opportunity.

All my best,

Denise

Me too, Denise! I will post here when I have more info. It's also one of the best networking tools/websites/lists that I have ever been a part of. If there is ever anything I can do for you, just let me know!

I found one that I can reply to. We'll see how it goes.

Hi Seth,

Good luck, let us know how it goes. Short and sweet with a relevent title works really well. Always pay special attention to what information the reporter is asking for in the initial request. The more you send exactly what they are requesting, the better your chances are of getting a reply back.

I had just signed up July 8th and got it at night on the 8th. when I went to do it I saw that it expired at 5 EDT so I missed the deadline.

I'll keep watching though.

Thanks again

Hi Alex,

HARO continues to help me out--Take a look at the mention and link I received as a result of replying to a request this week from the author of How Not to Act Old .

The blog is hilarious so I discovered a fun new read which was was Wednesday's LA Times Best Web Page and has been featured on the Huffington Post. Great for both of us, I love her blog and will promote it and I got love back.

I am definitely signing up for this, too.
Hopefully one day I can be a very specific person. :o)

Thanks for sharing this and for adding the "catch".
