Shareaholic is a plugin on Firefox you can use for all your social marketing needs. Whether you need to Digg, Stumble, or whatever ... using this tool saves you the time of browsing the digg site while you do all your other work.
I use this to make my diggs n' stumbles. Now you can Digg and Stumble your favorite SMC posts and discussions straight from your Firefox Browser. If you don't Firefox, get it now
Savvy marketers can implement this tool to increase readership as well.
You may want to try copying the link to your SMC posts, logging out and then pasting the link into your browser. You will find your SMC posts to be behind a log in screen.
Google can get in and will index some links and you can click thru to them but I believe you will find most the content to be cut off.
I just downloaded it and will play with it when i restart firefox. It looks like it has a lots of links to most social sites so you don't need to have lots of icons on your ff toolbar.
I tried this and dumped it right away. It lacks most of the sites that return Google links to your site.
I use the JavaScript bookmarklets provided, create a folder in the FF Bookmarks Toolbar and drag the all the bookmarks there. Click the folder and there is all the bookmarks I use and none of the ones that I don't.
Also I am not adding to code that already makes FireFox slow to launch and a RAM resource hog. FF currently takes 103MB just to run the process. That is it just sitting there in RAM.
Also a word of measure on these sites that do provide backlinks. Google has been on to this for years. If you do not get a high number of votes (at Digg it would be at least 30 to 50 Diggs) Google discounts the bookmark for the most part. At some point Google is going to start seeing this as a negative indicator.
If you use social bookmarking sites incorrectly you can seriously damage your Google rankings.
I certainly wouldn't use this for stumbleupon, that is what the Stumbleupon toolbar is for. I also advocate not including a SU button as that can lead to people clicking it, and then not reviewing, which reduces votes.
It is also bad form to hotlink to any download, but especially Firefox plugins - to use the link it was necessary to authorise Ning for plugins
