If indeed marketing demographics can be fun. I've been wandering around facebook for a week or so now since I joined up and have noticed (with my highly trained marketers eye) a strange phenomena. Lets call it the Tom Hanks Effect. Every third persons profile, following a chain of connected friends, is a fan of the Green Mile Movie. The Green Mile has never been a 'cult movie' its just a really good story with a good actor (Tom Hanks) but not that exceptional. However it does have a spiritual message and a cute mouse. Maybe thats all it takes, I don't know.
I digress. There seems to be an iconic profile statement that makes the author 'cool', the magic key that opens the door to the peer network and beyond. At the moment that password is 'Green Mile'. This may be a transitory phrase, superseded by something greater and more powerful next season, next year or whatever. But at the moment thats the buzz. If you want to hook up to the matrix and rub shoulders with the 'in crowd' rent yourself the Green Mile, get some popcorn and hear the message. "Three grown men... outsmarted by a mouse."
I know the feeling.
